Xiang Li is an interdisciplinary artist works across studio arts, digital arts, music composition, performance, and poetry. Xiang’s art and music works are shaped from his observation to the world including the thoughts about the nature and the society, and the exploration of self-identify as a human being. His works portrays the poetic imagination and exquisite perception to the world. Xiang is good at utilizing different creative media from the perspective of an artist, musician, listener and life explorer into his works. His artworks were exhibited in US and UK.
In this work The Light Room, and The Dark Room, he perspective his personal feelings to light, noise, and space into a spatial light installation and a sound performance. He collaborated as the visual artist with architect and engineer in Space Jam, a work involved motion capture, generative audio and visual art. He merged poetry, diary, documentation, visual arts and graphic composition into his work Some Little Thoughts from June 1st till Now.
Xiang obtained his BFA in Creative Technologies at Virginia Tech, his MA in Fine Arts at University of Arts London, and currently he is pursuing a MM in Music Composition at Peabody Conservatory of John Hopkins University. His creative experience in art and music bridges the intertwining senses of vision and auditory. This makes him courageously work beyond the boundary of the material and subject.
